Why I Started A Blog

I wanted to start a blog, because I think it would be a good opportunity to educate people a little more about Barbados, learn new things from doing research for my blog posts, try new things, be more creative, share my knowledge and help improve my writing skills.

So here it goes!

I was hesitant to try new things, because I was thinking.. Would people even like my posts? from a marketing standpoint I had to ask myself this question. So I decided to write one as a tester and sent it to my family and they have encouraged me to write more ever since. I started to realise that blogging would also improve my marketing skills, i have recently completed my Associate Degree in Marketing and have a lot of spare time on my hands, so i want to keep busy while learning.

This also allows me to share my story and try to motivate other people along the way. After school I started looking for a job and was clueless as to what I was going to do in the meantime as I did not want to become a professional couch potato. Blogging came to mind and I researched it, so I can start here and build up to vlogging, where a vlog is basically a video blog.

I was even thinking of doing a vlog for Kadooment Day in August, to show or give people a feel for Kadooment. And to try and encourage people overseas and locals to participate in it in the future.

So let me know if you would be interested in that video!

I wrote this post to give you a little inspiration to go out there and do what you want to do, what you are passionate about even though you may have some uncertainties or even if others try to discourage you. I think this is why a lot of people are miserable in their jobs everyday, because they have  allowed people to discourage them from doing what they like or are passionate about and now they are stuck in a job that stresses them out.

At the end of the day you only have one life to live and you should live it to suit you.
